Short term Turkish residence permit is given to all foreign nationals who duly apply and submit the relevant documents. Before you apply for Turkish residence permit, you are recommended to first contact an immigration lawyer.
To apply for Turkish residence permit you need to either rent an apartment or buy a real estate in Turkey. You can apply for Turkish residence permit together with your family. If you are married, you will need a marriage certificate to submit to the Turkish immigration office during the appointment. If you have children, you will need the children’s birth certificate. You will also need a copy of your passport to submit your application in the immigration office.

Appointment is given usually within 1 month. During the appointment, an immigration officer will conduct an interview with you, ask your purpose of stay, review all your documents, process your application and give you a certificate of residence application. With this certificate you will be able to stay in Turkey until your Turkish residence card arrives at your declared address by postage. If you travel out of Turkey before your card arrives, this certificate of application will let you travel back to Turkey within 15 days without needing another visa.
